IF THIS IS YOU

You did everything right.  So why does Monday feel like this?

Good job. Good title. A salary your younger self would have high-fived you for. And somewhere between the calendar invites, a little voice keeps piping up: “soooo... is this it?”

If you're here, some of this is probably familiar:

The Sunday scaries have started arriving on Saturday. You've updated your resume three times and sent it nowhere. You've taken the assessments, and now you know you're an INTJ-Enneagram-8-Quiet-Achiever... and you still don't know what to do. You Google “career change at 35” at 11pm, then close the tab, because where would you even start? And when people ask how work is going, you say “great, really lucky,” and feel like a fraud for saying it.

You're not ungrateful. You're not broken. And you're not the only one: “I should be grateful” might be the most common sentence spoken in first conversations with me.

You're just missing one specific thing, and it's not passion.

THE REAL PROBLEM

You don't have a passion problem. You have a criteria problem.

Ask most people what they want from their career and they say: fair pay, smart colleagues, interesting work. Not wrong. Useless. That's “I'm hungry” instead of “I'm craving sushi.” One gives you every restaurant in the city; the other gives you your three go-to spots.

Nobody ever taught you how to figure out what you specifically need for work to feel right. So you've been browsing job boards hoping to recognize the answer on sight, which is like grocery shopping hungry with no list. Everything looks sort of good. Nothing clearly is.

The fix isn't more searching. It's building your actual criteria first, with evidence, then letting the criteria do the filtering.

That's a learnable skill. It's the skill this program teaches, and you keep it for every career decision after this one.

YOUR OTHER OPTIONS

You could also do this without me. Here's what that usually looks like.

Wait it out.

Maybe the reorg fixes it. Maybe the new boss is different. Waiting feels responsible, and it costs nothing except every month you spend doing it. Most people I meet have been “keeping their eyes open” for two years.

Brute-force the job boards.

Polish the resume, apply broadly, take the best offer. It works! Except without criteria, you tend to land in a shinier version of the same problem, and the dissatisfaction unpacks its bags six months in.

Collect more inputs.

Another assessment, another book, another coffee with that one friend who “made the leap.” Each one gives you a spark of insight that fades by Friday, because insight without a system doesn't turn into a decision.

Any of these can eventually work. I watch them cost people years, and the years are the expensive part.

THE METHOD

The Fulfilling Career Path

 Three phases, one repeatable skill

PHASE 1 · CLARITY

Know Thyself

Direct questions like “what do you want?” produce useless answers, so we go through the backdoor: Flow Stories, accounts of moments you were so absorbed you lost track of time. From those we extract your criteria — what has to be true for work to fit you. You walk out with your Care Card: a one-page blueprint of how you work best. Members use it to evaluate every opportunity from that point on.

PHASE 2 · EXPLORE

Set Your Destination

Now the criteria go to work. We brainstorm wide (unhinged ideas welcome; the editor's job comes later), filter everything through the Filtering Matrix (a blunt two-by-two), and pressure-test the top options through real conversations with real humans, purely for information, not for a job. No spray-and-pray applying. You finish with a Direction Statement you actually believe, because you gathered the evidence yourself.

PHASE 3 · ADVOCATE

Make It a Reality

Most resumes are beautiful catalogues that go straight in the recycling bin. We build the narrative that connects your experience to what someone actually needs, then deploy it: resume, LinkedIn, conversations, interviews, negotiation. You finish with a story you can tell without cringing, and a campaign that's live.

Then the skill is yours. When your life shifts in five years, you rerun the process yourself.

BEFORE YOU START

What to expect, including the hard part

Early on there's usually a rush of clarity that feels great. Then, right around the transition from self-knowledge to direction-finding (about six weeks in for most people), you'll probably hit a dip. It feels like stalling. It's actually the most common, most predictable part of the process, and the structure is built to carry you through it. I'm telling you now so that when it happens, you'll know it's the map working, not you failing.

— Anthony

On timelines, honestly: most members find their direction within three to six months. Landing the new role typically takes four to nine, depending on how far you're moving. Anyone promising faster is selling certainty they don't have.

WHY A GROUP

My group members have always moved faster than my 1:1 clients.  The group is why.

I didn't add a group format to scale. I leaned into it because I kept watching group members outpace people who had me all to themselves. Four reasons:

Momentum you don't have to manufacture.

Everyone's reporting progress next week, including you. Members tell me some version of “I was about to let it slide, and then I didn't want to show up with nothing.” That gentle pressure is worth more than any productivity app you've ever downloaded.

A mirror with no agenda.

Your boss needs things from you. So does your family. Groupmates have no vested interest, which is exactly what makes it land when they reflect back “you realize that's rare, right?” You cannot see your own patterns alone. That's not a character flaw; it's how patterns work.

Every stage of the path, in one room.

Enrollment is rolling, so someone is always a few steps ahead of you, asking questions you haven't thought of yet, and someone's just starting, which shows you how far you've come. You learn from a roomful of careers, not just your own.

A built-in first network.

You practice talking about yourself out loud, in a low-stakes room, before it counts. And members open doors for each other constantly; it's much easier to explore when someone says “you should talk to my cousin.”

Another member was talking through the issues he was having, and I thought, ‘My God, that's me too.’

RESULTS

What  members actually say

FOUND A DIRECTION HE BELIEVES IN

“I came to you because I convinced myself no one would hire me. ... You're going to laugh, Anthony, but the words that came to my mouth are: I think I've decided. This is the best I've felt with any direction I've explored.”

E., technical program manager pivoting into data analytics

CHANGED CAREERS ENTIRELY

“I left my job and I'm starting my new one tomorrow. Without having done the work early on, I couldn't have done this.”

K., media professional

BUILT HER BLUEPRINT

“I'd been randomly brainstorming for a year on my own. Now I have a blueprint for how I work: my interests, my needs, my style, my skills. It's the guide for all of it.”

K.R., HR & internal communications

RESHAPED THE ROLE SHE HAS

“People are coming to me and asking me to run the meetings. I'm seeing it, at work, directly in the things I'm working on.”

E.N., program manager, entertainment

Notice the range. K. changed careers entirely. E.N. is reshaping the one she already has. E. arrived convinced no one would hire him and now has a direction he believes in. The size of the move gets matched to your life; that's the point of building criteria first.

Curious what the right-sized move is for you?

The Investment

$5,000

for six months

$4,500 if you pay upfront.
Payment plans available; we'll sort the details on the call.

Worth naming: most mid-career professionals I work with discover they've been underpricing themselves in the market. A modest raise repays this within months of landing the right role, and keeps paying every year after. But the honest pitch isn't the math; it's that you stop spending Sunday nights dreading Monday.

  Rolling start
No waiting for a cohort. You begin when you're ready.

FIT

This works extremely well for some people. Kindly, not everyone.

CCYL is built for you if:

  •   You're doing well on paper and quietly unsatisfied, and you're done pretending that's fine
  •   You want your next move to be the right move, not just the next one
  •   You can put in focused work between sessions (think twenty minutes, most weeks — not a second job)
  •   You're open to a different sequence than “polish resume, apply harder”

It's not the right tool if:

  •   You need a paycheck by next Tuesday. That's an urgent-search problem; this is a right-search program. (Tell me anyway on a call and I'll point you at better resources for that.)
  •   You want someone to hand you the answer. I have frameworks, not a crystal ball; the answer gets built from your evidence.
  •   You're optimizing purely for comp and title. Recruiters do that well and charge you nothing.
  •   You're in an acute mental-health chapter. Therapy comes first; I work alongside therapists all the time and I'm happy to coordinate the timing.

WHEN THIS DOESN'T WORK

I'd rather tell you this here than have you discover it in month two: the only members who don't get results are the ones who don't do the between-session work, disappear from the group, or aren't honest about what they're experiencing. The program can carry a busy week. It can't carry absence. If this is a season of your life where twenty minutes a week isn't real, wait. The program enrolls year-round, and I'd rather you start six months from now and finish than start today and vanish.

Anthony Kuo

WHO I AM

Hi, I'm Anthony.

I spent years in marketing analytics at Fortune 100 companies. I was good at it. My bosses loved me. My parents were proud. My resume was gorgeous. And I was miserable, which made no sense to me, because I'd followed the instructions.

Figuring out my own way out took years longer than it needed to, mostly because I was doing what you might be doing right now: circling, collecting advice, waiting for clarity to arrive on its own. The system I teach is the one I wish someone had handed me: build the criteria first, gather evidence, make the smallest move that actually closes the gap.

Eight-plus years and hundreds of professionals later, that system is my full-time work. I run it from NYC, fully virtual, alongside a referral network of mental-health clinicians who send me their clients when the career piece is the stuck piece.

Outside of coaching I'm training for my second Ironman 70.3, which tells you roughly everything about how I feel about structured plans and long games.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

No mystery. Here's exactly what happens next.

STEP 1

Pick a time.

The call is 45 minutes on Zoom, at no cost.

STEP 2

Fill out a short intake.

About five minutes. It means we skip the “so tell me about yourself” recital and get straight to what matters.

STEP 3

Get the pre-call doc.

My approach, real client stories, and an FAQ that includes the investment, so nothing on the call is a surprise. Read as much or as little as you want.

STEP 4

Talk it through.

We look at your situation and figure out, together, whether this program is the right tool for it. Come with questions; skepticism is welcome. You'll leave with either a clear start or a clearer picture of what to do instead. Both are good outcomes.

No hard sell, and no deciding on the spot required. If it's a fit, you'll know. If it isn't, I'll say so first.
